I just wrote a book, but don't go out and buy it yet, because I don't think it's finished yet :)

If the story was told from Don Anselmo's perspective instead, it would give us many more details about how he actually feel about the trees which belong to the children. Firstly, it would tell us from the beginning about why he didn't sell the trees and set the price so low. Secondly, it would give us more information about his feelings towards those trees. I can tell that he is respectful for the fact that those trees are the children's, but from his perspective, it would tell more about why he didn't agree to sell the other half of the land in the first place. Lastly, it would also tell us more about his life, family. More about how he has so many descendants and how he grew those trees for each of them.

Literary Focus: 7. Make Judgements
I think Terry did it for both the right and the wrong reasons. Terry's father had the Vietnam syndrom, but it really wasn't caused from Vietnam. Terry knew that but he didn't know what caused the disease. He was his son, so I think Terry had the right to know about what happened. I know that the father was pained to talk about his past and what had happened during the war, but if Terry doesn't know what happened, he might even leave his father for being embarassed all the time because he didn't understand. So, his father should've told terry sooner so that Terry wouldn't misunderstand what happened to his father and how being in his father's shoes were really hard. It was also wrong because Terry's father didn't want to talk about what happened during the Vietnam war. Since many people died and he was the only one alive, his father might feel guilty and scared because he felt like he was a dead person on the inside. Terry made a mistake by asking his father about it, but also it was a good time because Terry had the right to know but he didn't know how it felt like to be in his father's position.

The Haunted
"Whoosh...whoosh," came the sound of the wind blowing mindlessly through the leafless trees in the yards of Kenn High. It was the year of 2009, and the chattering of Kenn High's student body made the wind inaudible as a couple, Daniel and Sarah and the two best friends, Jamie and Julia pushed through the double doors among with other students. As the four people went on bickering about where they should spend their Christmas vacation, Jamie hollered out, "I've got an awesome idea. Da Lat, Vietnam would the be perfect place for this kind of season."
"But I red that it's very dirty at that place. Ew..." Sarah said with a face, as usual. Sarah was the girly- type, who was also the head of her cheerleading squad. Her boyfriend, Daniel, was the head of his football team. Jamie was the captain of his basketball team while Julia was the one with all the brains. Everyone decided to go with Jamie's idea. After a long while, Daniel found himself leaning over Sarah's car window to kiss her passionately, while Jamie and Julia walked in silence.
"Well, I think this trip will be fun, don't you," Julia said with a huge grin as she eased down the tension between the two of them. Jamie used one of his angelic smiles that makes girls' hearts melt and blushed at his best friend, "Yeah, it'd be a great chance for us to visit our home country, right?"
"Right..." Julia said softly. She has been madly in love with Jamie ever since 5th grade, but she had never peaked out a single word to anyone. BAM! A thunderclap shook the earth as raindrops began to fall from the black sky, trying to drown the earth. Julia looked over and saw Jamie walking towards a girl in the cheerleading squad. Julia started to cry as she looked up the sky. She was surprised when Jamie honked and said, "Hey, are you getting on or just going to stand there and get soaked?" Julia smiled, grabbed her bag, hopped onto Jamie's car and thought about what this vacation might have in store for the four of them.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we're experiencing some turbulence right now. So please return to your seat and fasten your seatbelts. Thank you," the airplane attendant announced on American Airlines after a couple of bumped on the sky. Everyone was frowning as Sarah continued to complain.
"Sarah, we've only been on this plane for 3 hours. We still have another 18 more hours to go. So drink some water because your throat might go dry," Julia ran out of patience and said.
"WHAT? Twenty-one more hours on this plane? They might as well as drop me here. I can find my own way back home..." Sarah whined softly. Jamie groaned at the torture that all three of them were going to get from Sarah, but he found later on that Sarah was easy to put as sleep. Therefore, after an hour, Sarah slept like a pig on Daniel's broad shoulders. They finally arrived, checked into a hotel and slept wistfully.
The next day, they woke up, squeezed into a red convertible and drove onto the streets with Julia behind the wheels. They took the route to the scariest haunted house in town, but they could not find the place. As they drove around, the tires on their rented car blew out and there was also a little bit amount of gas left. "Man, some piece of junk you rented, "Jamie complained.
"Hey, the roads here are just too gnarly, that's all," Daniel said amiably.
"Well, I guess we're stuck here. Anybody got any ideas what to do? Jamie said with a shrug.
"How about going to that lovely house over there for shelter?" Sarah suggested. The house was indeed lovely, but they were very cautious of it. So Daniel and Jamie walked in first, while Julia and Sarah followed. They were all surprised to smell some weird odor, like the house has been left there for too long. With all the dust everywhere, this place was defnitely ominous. SLAM! The front door slowly locked the four of them in. The two boys suddenly dashed to the windows to open them, but they were also locked.
"Wait, didn't we see this house as "lovely"," Jamie asked with a shaky voice as he looked out at the window, as usual. The house looked very old from the inside, like it could be blown away anytime. Suddenly, the lights went out. Even the sky just fell dark right away. Then, Daniel's ears pricked up as Sarah's screams tore the night. He felt her hands torn away from his and dragged into the darkness. As the lights went on like an electric generator, Daniel started to look for Sarah. He saw the blood that was spilled and dragged on the floor and fell apart, with tears trickled down his cheeks. He stood up and chased for sarah by the blood path while Jamie and Julia tried to follow, but he was too fast. When they turned to a corner, they saw the nastiest scene that they could never forget. Daniel and Sarah's bodies were violently killed and left there without any traces of who the "killer" might be. Just then, Julia felt something at the back of her neck and fell down. Jamie bent over for Julia, but he was also attacked and felt the world around him fell.
Jamie woke up finding himself on an ambulance. He quickly sat up, demanded a doctor to see Julia, and wanted to know what happened in that ominous house.
"You know, you and your friend were pretty lucky back there, kid," the doctor said. "That is the scariest haunted house in the entire world. We tried to get rid of it, but it never workd. Last night, and employee from the hotel that you were staying noticed your car parked outside of that haunted house. He was smart enough to call us and we got here in time, or else you two could've been killed like your friends. I'm sorry for your loss. Julia's over there in the other ambulance.
"Thanks, I appreciate your help," Jamie said hurriedly as he ran towards Julia's ambulance. He climbed in and saw her still unconcious. He couldn't help but cry, but he tried to calm down. He wished and called for Julia to wake up, but she didn't. Tears unexpectedly rolled down his cheeks and onto Julia's face. Her eyelids started to open like Jamie's tear drops disturbed her, raised her hand to touch Jamie's face. He slowly turned towards her, said only three words and bent to give her a good-morning kiss. Those three words were simple; those were the words that you describe your love to that someone...

Jace Wayland- City of Bones (book)
Jace Wayland, a Shadowhunter, an attraction to every girl he met and very full of himself. He was crazily talented at catching demons from other worlds in the book, "City of Bones" and thought that everybody liked him because he was angelically beautiful. He was madly in love with Clarissa Fray, whom at the beginning of the book, saved his life and was not a well-trained shadowhunter. Jace thought that he was so stunningly beautiful until he met Clary (Clarissa Fray), who changed the way he thought about himself and the world.

Dear Julie, Kevin and Tony,
SHOPPING is the most popular habit, mainly for us girls. We go shopping whenever our friend's in town, to get over a guy or just for fun. So let's say say we all take a night off and intract with me at the plazas right here in Vietnam. I know that shopping isn't you guys' favorite subject, but since you're leaving for the United States tomorrow, we won't be able to see each other for years! Vincom, parkson Hung Vuong, and so many other places that we'll be able to go on Saturday all have awesome and famous stores. So I hope that you guys will agree with me and go on this fabulous evening on Saturday.
So many tourists come to Vietnam and they all give great comments about these malls. The two most popular ones are Vincom and Parkson Hung Vuong, as I've listed out before. On Saturday, I will be your guide and you guys will just be my followers. We will be visiting all the popular stores in these malls. What popular stores are there in these well-known malls you might ask? Well, there's Converse, Jockey, Ecko Unltd, Mango, Versace, Skechers, and so many other brands that might take up the entire page just for listing them. There aren't just stores for shopping only, but also include places for people to relax, too. Like the Vinpearl Games, for entertainment. Popeyes, Highlands Coffee and Bud's San Francisco's Ice cream are for relaxation and to fill our stomachs. Their prices are usually reasonable, so I think we'll afford most itms that we want. I know that all of these sound like a lot and will take a lot of time, but the time will fly by and I'm sure until then, you'd wish for the time to slow down.
I really hope that you'll take my consideration and go out on Saturday evening. I seriously think this opportunity might even get us to know more about each other, too. Thank you for reading and hope that I'll see your faces at Vincom and Parkson Hung Vuong!

My letter to the Prime Minister of Vietnam
26 Hoa Hung Street
District 10, ward 13
Ho Chi City, Vietnam
September 27th, 2010
135 Vo Thi Sau Street
District 3, ward 11
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Dear the Prime Minister of Vietnam,
I have noticed a lot of garbages along the sidewalks of some streets in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I am a citizen of Vietnam and also a student at American International School. A lot of people in Vietnam are very careless about making the streets and rivers their trash bins. Since Vietnam is also a tourism country, I think it's our job to make the country even more beautiful without any garbage and to make the citizens and tourists here even hppier. As a citizen and a student of an international school, I really hope that you would agree with me to make our country an attractive place for everyone.
In 2008, there were 400,000 tourists in total. Until 2009, we lost 10% of tourists' interests. I think that garbage and traffic was one of the main things that caused this to happen. Of course, candy wrappers and fast food bags aren't as attractive to anyone in this world. This matter isn't just important to the tourists from other countries, but to the health of the people who lives here, too. Nobody would want to buy or keep a home where there's trash all over the place and getting sick all the time. The garbage people throuw out in the streets wouldn't stay there all the time. When it rains, the water carries with it a lot of garbage which finally ends up in either rivers or oceans. After ll the garbage was dumped into the places, the country would be even more polluted, which'll cause diseases. So I think everybody should volunteer to make our country a safe and healthy environment for everyone.
I know what you're tinking, that all of this will cost toomuch money and the volunteers would easily give up. The only way to reduce the cost of the cleaning crews and get the volunteers to be interested in the jobs is fine. We fine the people who doesn't care about our environment, preerably 200,000 in cash for each person. That way, we can pay the cleaning crews and give out awards for the people who vonlunteered with their hearts.
Please consider this letter and take actions right away on this important issue. I really believe that if our country becomes clean, then it will step up to another level and be even richer than before. So for the sake of the citizens and tourists, help our country. Thank you.
Kind regards,
Antonia Nguyen

A Trip Under the Stars
A Trip Under the Stars
"Excuse me ma'am, but what would you..." the airplane attendant asked me but her words drowned in my thoughts as I was looking outside of a tiny plane window. The night sky was beautiful as the plane went soaring through the black atmosphere. My family and I were living in America for almost four years now, but we had to move back to Vietnam for some time because my mom and dad had some business to take care of. Staring out at the dazzling stars and the moon was neon bright; I felt my mind going back in time...
A few years before I immigrated to America, which was when I was still back in my home country, Vietnam. I would have rushed to put on some appropriate clothing for a long trip like this one, as I have remembered. It was in June 2006, when my family and I first immigrated to America. We were all excited but nervous because there will be a lot of complicated paperwork to be done. After I was finished with all the morning procedures, I took my backpack with me and went downstairs where I found everybody was busy with their own thing. Therefore, I set my bag down and ate breakfast. I sat there and thought about how the kids there act, plus how they will treat new students like me at their schools. I was lost in my thoughts and literally jumped when my brother yelled, "Taxi's here!"
I shot a dagger glare at him and hurried to get my bag. It was about ten minutes later when everybody was settled into the cab and off to the airport. We rushed through the security checkpoint and spent the next day on a tiring plane. When we finally arrived, I gave out one satisfactory sigh and got off. There, we saw our dad's side of the family, whom I have not seen ever since I was four. So therefore, we were not very close. Despite that, they helped us to get a house to live and a car to drive around. We were also amazed at how America can be so immensely huge. Eventually, summer had to be over, and fall came. My question at the beginning about how kids will treat me at school answered when I stepped into J.K. Elementary School. Everybody treated nicely towards me and showed me all over the place, too. It was really hard to get used to the environment around me at first, but I developed my love to it through time. I got used to everybody around me and started to join clubs, sports teams, and made some good friends. I had so much fun in America that I forgot everything about my past until one day, I came home and found my mom sitting on the kitchen table. I went and sat down with a glass of milk and asked, "Are you okay, mom?"
She tried to smile because she was so tired so she let out a huge, shakily sigh and said, "We have to move back to Vietnam for a couple of years. Is that okay with you?"
My heart stopped for seconds when I heard this because if I go back, that means I have to abandon my soccer team and say bye to my best friends. I wanted to argue back but instead, I heard myself said, "Yeah, that's alright. I have to do my homework, see you at dinner or something,"
I went into my room and thought about what I have just decided. I could said no and stayed here with my aunt, or with another relative. But then I figured out the reason why I said that was because I almost forgot how to read and write in Vietnamese. I also forgot about the cultures and holidays. It was like a nightmare becoming true, because a person with no memories of their original country was like a person with no actual home. So I happily get packed and hummed to myself...
Suddenly, my mind traveled through a time warp and I was boom, back on the plane. I felt myself blinking a couple of times as if I just woke up from a deep sleep. I thought about what I had remembered and thought about my home country. It was then that I felt sorry for myself. I've turned my back to Vietnam for so long that I started to forget some bits about it. I began to close my eyes and promised myself as I went to sleep on a stone-hard chair on the plane that I would never forget a lesson that I've learned all by myself like this, ever.

To pull a charlie gordon
In the story "Flowers for Algernon", Charlie Gordon was a 37-year-old-man who was not very intelligent. He had an IQ of 68, which was low for an ordinary person. He was also, not very surprising, trickable and doesn't know when people were making fun of him. Like for examble, on page 60, Amos Borg shouted at an office boy, Ernie, for losing a package. He scolded him and yelled that if he wanted to be a Charlie Gordon, which referred as Charlie, a stupid, clumsy and not aware of the things people say around him. So that's kind of like an insult if other people did stuff like Ernie. Therefore, when people say, "Do you want to be a Charlie Gordon?" meaning that you do not want to be Charlie. So generally, to pull a Charlie Gordon, like on page 66 and also in my opinion, means if you make a fool of yourself, other people would refer you to being the same person as Charlie Gordon since in the story, Charlie was a fool, not very smart.
